Tayet’s is more than a brand — it’s a journey of healing, heritage, and handmade beauty.
It all started with Rania, a self-taught designer who turned personal struggle into a story of strength. While navigating the quiet, emotional weight of postpartum depression, she found comfort in creation — working with her hands, learning ancient techniques, and exploring the calming rhythm of natural fibers like jute and cotton.
Over three years, Rania developed her own techniques and product designs, building a vision: to bring natural, soulful décor into modern homes — and to do it in a way that uplifts others. In 2019, Tayet’s was born.
Then the world changed.
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic swept through every home and business, Tayet’s faced its biggest test. Like many small brands, the challenges were overwhelming — production delays, uncertainty, isolation. But instead of giving in, Rania doubled down on her mission. She kept working, kept creating, and most importantly, kept supporting the women around her. Tayet’s didn’t just survive the pandemic — it grew stronger because of it.
The name Tayet’s is inspired by Tyet, the ancient Egyptian symbol of weaving and feminine protection. Egypt was the first civilization to craft baskets and wall décor, as discovered in Fayoum — and that legacy lives on in every piece we create. Some of our designs are directly influenced by the elegance of ancient Egypt and the warmth of African artistry, reimagined through a contemporary lens.
Each product is made by hand by local artisans — most of whom are women — working full-time at Tayet’s. We provide them with training, support, and a stable income. Every item you bring into your home supports not only a sustainable craft but a sustainable community.
